According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, falls are one of the leading causes of fatal and non-fatal injuries among the elderly. Balance and fall prevention programs can help you improve your quality of life.
In addition to injury, falling can lead to a loss of confidence and cause questioning of whether it is safe to do normal day-to-day activities. We know falls are serious and that your overall balance and steadiness is a very important part of your well being.
General deconditioning and many medical conditions can cause frequent falls, such as dizziness, inner ear problems, poor vision, medications, muscle weakness, poor flexibility, or lack of coordination.
At Blue Lotus Wellness, our physical therapists will evaluate your strength, flexibility, gait, and balance and develop a customized program to improve your balance and help prevent falls.
Following evaluation, physical therapy treatments will include a customized exercise and movement program to help improve strength, mobility, and balance.
